The Color Wheel

This page shows a simple color wheel under various rendition conditions.

The following is the JPEG original, containing many thousands of colors. If you have the capability to display at least 16,384 colors (214), this image should look perfectly smooth and should blend uniformly from one pixel to the next.

The Challenge: What happens to that good display under various display conditions?

As seen on a 256 Color Display

As seen on a 16 Color Display

Solution at the Source:
Reduce Image Colors to 216

This image, while not as uniform as the original, will look the same under both large display palettes and 256 color palettes.
